Massey Universe

This exhibition is a  showcase of the diverse, provocative and magical imaginary worlds designed and crafted by students from the College of Creative Arts, Massey University. The work on display was created under  the PIPI initiative where Illustrators from Massey University School of Design are teamed up with Writers from the International Institute of Modern letters at Victoria University to generate original IP for children’s games and animation series. Students working on these projects are now working in the creative industry for companies such as Weta Workshop, Weta Digital, PikPok, Tinman studios and Mechanic Animation.

Pretty Ugly

It is cute and gross. It is charming and strange. It is PrettyUgly — a peculiar little gallery show by an equally peculiar group of illustrators. PrettyUgly explores the contrast between the two themes, with an aesthetic inspired by pop culture, toys, comics and cartoons. The first PrettyUgly exhibition was held at Thistle Hall in early 2016, and we’re very excited to now join NZ Comic Con & the ‘White Cloud Worlds Academy Exhibition’ in 2017.
