Christian Rivers has had a passion for film ever since seeing Star Wars when he was a young child. After finishing high school his first job was storyboarding Braindead for Peter Jackson when he was 18. Over the next 25 years he continued to storyboard for Jackson as well as work for Weta Workshop and Weta Digital as a Concept Artist, Puppeteer, Illustrator, Art Director, Animation Director, Previzualisation Supervisor and Visual Effects Supervisor. He won an Academy Award and a BAFTA for his work on King Kong as well as various VES awards for his work on The Lord of the Rings and Hobbit trilogies. In 2010 he took a year out from working in film to work at Valve Corporation in Seattle. His passion for film brought him back to Wellington. Most recently he has worked as a 2nd Unit Director on various Hollywood Productions as well as directing his first short film Feeder. He is currently working towards his first feature whilst supporting his very patient and understanding family.
