Joe has had a successful career in film, theatre and events, designing and telling stories on the largest and most breathtaking stages right down to the smallest, most miniscule ones.

His work as concept developer and designer of the Opening Ceremony of the 1990 Commonwealth Games earned him a QSM and he has also twice received the US Art Directors’ Guild’s highest award, Excellence in Production Design, for his work as Art Director on the Lord of the Rings films, The Two Towers and The Return of the King as well as being nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Production Design for his work as Art Director on King Kong.

His interest in large scale projects is matched only by his fascination with the small world including miniatures. Whatever the project he inevitably manages to have a small world perspective included.
