Marc Johnston

Fanatic of cutesy characters and videogame sensibilities. Marc Johnston is a Wellington based illustrator who studied at Massey University and has worked for Taylormade Media (Squirt tv show). He is currently working as a lead concept artist for mobile game developer PikPok. He enjoys overtly colourful things and quirky character designs, weirder means better. A lot of the characters he designs are heavily influenced by the cartoons and videogames of the 90s, which means a lot of punchy, trope-prone, two-dimensional characters that might seem ‘flat’ to some, but occupy a special place of memorability and hilarity in his mind.
